                  OLDE SYCAMORE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
2010 SWIMMING POOL RULES AND REGULATIONS
 
 
1.            SAFETY FIRST!  Obey the lifeguards at all times. By North Carolina State Law, 
           no person will be permitted to be in the pool area without a lifeguard present.
 
2.            CHILDREN:  All children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied 
           at all times in the pool area by his or her own parent or another responsible 
           person who is at least 17 years old who will assume direct responsibility for 
           the child.  Children 13 and older may attend the pool unaccompanied by an 
           adult. **Children wearing diapers only will NOT be allowed in the pool. 
           **Swim diapers are required. **
 
3.             POOL TAGS:  Pool tags must be presented to a lifeguard upon entrance. 
           A sign-in book will be provided near the entrance to monitor admittance. 
           Only members and their guests are permitted in the pool area. Members 
           will be responsible for all actions of their family and guests and may be 
           charged for damaged property.  No pool tag, no entry!
 
4.             SAFETY:  NO GLASS of any kind is permitted in the pool area.  Only plastic 
           bottles/cups & aluminum cans are permitted. (Please recycle)  Bring your 
           own plastic cups if needed while you are at the pool.  No running, pushing, 
          wrestling, or horseplay will be permitted. The pool and pool area WILL 
           ALWAYS be evacuated during an electrical storm!
 
5.             CLEANLINESS:  Caution children to use the bathroom facilities provided in 
           the pool house. Place trash in trash receptacles. No rocks, debris, chewing 
           gum or spitting will be allowed in the pool or pool area. Bathing suits must 
           be worn; no one will be allowed in the pool wearing street clothes.
 
6.                           NO DIVING:  The pool is only 5 feet deep; no diving will be allowed.
 
7.                          OBJECTS IN POOL:  No oversized inflatable devices, such as inflatable 
            boats or whales, will be allowed. No large toys, towels, or foreign objects, 
            such as cans, paper, food, etc., will be allowed in the pool.
 
8.             POOL EQUIPMENT:  Under no circumstances is any person to play with 
           pool cleaning implements. Pool furniture may not be removed from the pool 
           area or placed in the pool.
 
9.            HEALTH:  Admission to the pool will be denied to anyone appearing to have 
           an infectious disease. Persons with excessive sunburn, open sores, bandages, 
           inflamed eyes, colds, nasal or ear discharge as well as any ailments which 
           could adversely affect water cleanliness and/or endanger the well being of 
           others will not be permitted in the pool.
 
10.         NOISE:  With due regard to the close proximity of some homes to the pool 
           area as well as respect for other pool users, the noise level must be kept at 
           a minimum.
 
11.         NO PETS:   Absolutely no pets will be allowed in the pool area..
 
12.         PARKING:  Parking in designated parking spaces only.
 
13.         GUESTS:   ALL GUESTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY THE INVITING RESIDENT AT 
           ALL TIMES WHILE IN POOL AREA.  The number of guests per household is 
           limited to 6.  It is at the discretion of the CPM Pool Staff on duty to determine 
           if the pool capacity level is met or exceeded at any particular time. Pool entry 
           for guests will be based on that determination.  There is no charge for guests.   
 
14.         POOL PARTY WITHOUT RENTAL OF POOL HOUSE:  IF you are having a pool party 
           with more than 6 guests but do not require the rental of the pool house, 
           please contact the Lifeguard Manager directly 7-9 days prior to your event 
           in order to ensure proper lifeguard coverage to accommodate your Pool Party.  
           You will be responsible for payment of any additional guard(s) required for 
           your party.  Payment is to be made directly to Carolina Pool Management and 
           all details must be clearly worked out with Lifeguard Management.   The CPM 
           contact number for questions or to arrange for lifeguard coverage for an event 
           is 704-583-9700.
 
15.         PRIVATE PARTIES:  Pool facilities will be available for rentals during & after 
           the regular scheduled pool hours.  Arrangements for private parties must be 
           made with the Pool House Rental contact and Lifeguard Management.  In the 
           case of damage, the homeowner who rents the facility will be held responsible. 
           Lifeguards are required and the homeowner will be charged according to the 
           Pool Management Company's fee schedule. All monies will be collected prior
            to the event.  **Refer to enclosure for rental rates/contact info.**
 
16.         ADULT SWIM:   The last 10 minutes of every hour, the pool will be cleared of 
           all children 17 years and younger.  This time is reserved for adults only in the 
           pool& the lifeguards will be on break at this time.
 
17.         NO TRESPASSING in the pool area before or after lifeguard hours!
 
18.         ALL PERSONS USING THE POOL OR POOL AREA DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.
The lifeguard(s) is responsible for the enforcement of the rules. Any person who 
does not follow the rules can be expelled from the pool for the day at the discretion 
of the lifeguard(s). Two daily expulsions will result in a letter from the Board of 
Directors. Three daily expulsions will result in expulsion from the pool for the 
remainder of the pool season. It will be possible to make an appeal to the Board.
According to the By-laws for Olde Sycamore, as a legally filed document, the Board
 of Directors has the authority to suspend the privileges or fine any person(s) 
responsible for person(s) or guests that break the rules or act in an extreme or 
obscene manner, which causes obtrusive infringement or may hinder the safety of 
persons in the facility or pool area.
