Many residents in the Olde Sycamore community continually experience low water pressure. Both the ACC Chairman, Rob Buckanavage and HOA President, John Odioso have contacted Union County Public Works regarding this issue. However we are suggesting that all homeowners contact Scott Huneycutt, Assistant Director-Water, directly, via e-mail, so that Union County be made aware of the number of homeowners that this issue affects. Scott Huneycutt's contact e-mail is:
Roll-out household garbage service to start for all Mint Hill citizens. Beginning the week of July
7, 2008, residents who currently have back yard pick-up will be provided with a roll-out container
which should be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the morning of your pick-up. Your collection
day will remain the same. A flyer will be provided with your cart with information about the service.
If you are unable to roll your cart to the curb because of a disability, please call to make other
arrangements. If you have more garbage than your cart will hold, please put it in bags and place it
with you cart at the street.
This new service will standardize collection and be more cost effective for the Town. R.C.S. will
continue providing this service, along with recycling and yard waste. If you have questions after
receiving the cart and informational flyer, please call the Mint Hill Town Hall (704-545-9726) or
R.C.S. (704-376-9359)

April 8, 2008, Monroe, NC - Union County water system customers can begin watering their lawns again beginning this weekend.
The Union County Board of Commissioners on Monday made several amendments to the Union County Water Conservation Ordinance, including giving authorization for the countymanager to allow lawn irrigation one day per week during a Stage III water shortage condition. Union County residents have been prohibited from watering their lawns since Nov. 6, 2007.
Following consultation with the Board of Commissioners and the Public Works director, the
county manager has decided to amend his declaration of a Stage III Mandatory Water
Shortage Condition such that effective 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, lawn irrigation is
permitted as follows:
• Odd numbered addresses - Water ONLY on Saturday
• Even numbered and unnumbered addresses - Water ONLY on Sunday
This morning there were a number of car break-ins in the Hogan's Bluff and Fairway Mist area. Police were called by a number of homeowners and they responded quickly and silently. A homeownersaw the person and chased him. My understanding is that this enabled the K-9 unit to track him to his home on Rock Creek Church Road where the homeowner identified him and he was arrested.
The Board praises homeowner for his effort. There is one less criminal to worry about at this time.
Just an update. The homeowner just spoke with one of the detectives and the suspect admitted to the three break-ins last night as well as 8 other felonies done at Olde Sycamore. So hopefully he will be in jail for awhile and we can rest a little easier.
